Before you dive into calibrating, ensure that the settings are correct. Samsung refrigerators typically display the internal temperatures in both the fridge and freezer. Check that they are set to the recommended levels—usually, 37°F (3°C) for the fridge and 0°F (-18°C) for the freezer.
To check the accuracy of the fridge’s temperature, place a thermometer in a cup of water inside the fridge for about 8-12 hours. After this time, compare the thermometer’s reading with the temperature on the fridge display. If the readings are off by more than a few degrees, it’s time to calibrate.
On most Samsung fridges, you can enter calibration mode by pressing and holding the “Power Freeze” and “Power Cool” buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds. This will trigger the fridge’s calibration mode.
While in calibration mode, use the fridge’s control panel to adjust the displayed temperature to match the temperature you measured with the thermometer. You can adjust both the fridge and freezer temperatures in this mode.
Once you’ve calibrated the temperature display, press the “Power Freeze” and “Power Cool” buttons again to exit calibration mode. Allow the fridge to stabilize for a few hours and recheck the temperatures.
