Most Samsung dishwashers have the filter located at the bottom of the tub, beneath the lower spray arm. You’ll typically see a round or cylindrical mesh piece—that’s your filter assembly.
Turn off your dishwasher and open the door fully.
Pull out the bottom rack to give yourself room.
Locate the filter in the bottom center.
Turn the filter counterclockwise and lift it out—some models may also have a flat filter screen that lifts straight out.
Rinse the filter under warm water.
Use a soft brush or sponge to scrub off food particles, grease, and debris.
Avoid harsh cleaners or metal brushes—these can damage the mesh.
Rinse thoroughly and reinstall the filter by twisting clockwise until it locks.
Samsung recommends cleaning the filter once a month. If you run your dishwasher daily or don’t pre-rinse dishes, you might want to check it every couple of weeks.
A clogged filter can lead to:
Poor cleaning performance
Foul odors
Standing water in the tub
Strain on the motor over time
A clean filter means cleaner dishes and a longer-lasting appliance.
